Not even –35-degree temperatures could stand in the way of this modern prefab home installation by Karoleena. Craning and assembly of the two-storey green home took place in the historic inner-city community of Ramsay in Calgary, AB, and took less than 8 hours to complete.
It was only a matter of time before Karoleena’s ever-inventive and enthusiastic pair of founding partners Kurt and Kris Goodjohn would take their swiftly growing company all the way to Toronto, to boldly pitch a modular building process to a den full of CBC Dragons.
And while we can’t tell you exactly what happened when our fearless leaders faced the panel, we can tell you that you’re not going to want to miss this episode. Think end of March, and think positive…
When two excited clients came to us wanting to build a brand new home in the ever-evolving inner-city community of Ramsay in Calgary, they had some serious green on their mind. And as a result, Karoleena began our most eco-friendly construction project yet, and come the end of January 2011, it’ll be assembled on-site for all to see and our clients to enjoy for decades to come.
A slight modification of our Karo-Line Collection – ‘Single Family B’ design, the house is an entirely modular home featuring a top-to-bottom SIP (Structural Insulated Panels) Wall Building System, complete ICF (Insulating Concrete Forms) basement foundation, enviro-friendly Echo Wood cabinets, low-flow plumbing fixtures, high efficiency appliances, cutting edge technology and high-end finishes throughout.
Stay tuned to find out the exact day in January we’ll be craning together this incredible house!
Not only are we unveiling the newest innovative addition in our lineup of proven modular residential products to Calgarians from Feb. 24-27, we’re trekking it out to the West Coast to show it off at the Vancouver Home + Garden Show from Mar. 2-6, before heading back through the Rocky Mountains to put it on display at the Edmonton Home + Garden Show from Mar. 24-27.
Hope to see you at the show – we’re positive we’re going to blow your lakeside-dream-property socks off..
A faster version of the original Karoleena modular technology timelapse video, this version shows an entire house being put together in a matter of three days for the 2010 Calgary Home + Garden Show. Karoleena Homes’ innovative process allows for a home to be constructed from scratch – to the highest possible standard and building codes – in as little as three months. This particular home was transported from the Home Show to an inner-city lot where its foundation was waiting, and sold to a new home buyer.
Started Sunday at 9:00 am, finished Wednesday by midnight. This video shows how amazing the Karoleena building process truly is. The Dream Home in the 2010 Calgary Home + Garden Show was a huge success and Karoleena Homes was proud of the accomplishment. We look forward to many more challenging and successful projects like this.
The Dream Home by Karoleena is all set for transport from our building facility in Lethbridge to the Calgary Home + Garden Show… Craning of the home will begin on Sunday, February 21 at the BMO Center in Calgary.
Ah yes… exciting stuff. The official TV ad for the 2010 Calgary Home and Garden Show, which introduces the Dream Home from Karoleena – on display from February 25-28 inside the BMO Center in Calgary, AB. Did we mention this is the first time in the history of the Calgary Home Show that there’s been a full-sized home on display?
The third video from February 3rd 2010.
Another video taken on February 3, 2010 of the Home + Garden Show ‘Dream Home’ under construction. A week ago, the construction had only just began with the floor being built. This video shows the roof almost ready to be craned onto the second floor walls. It also shows the interstitial space of the first floor with some of the wiring and main floor lights.
