Custom constructed for a highly forward-thinking First Nation organization in southern Alberta, The Equan is a modern marvel for more than one reason. Covering 5,894 sq. ft. over two expansive floors, The Equan is currently being built in Karoleena’s in-house manufacturing facility, with an expected completion and installation date of July 2012. Once finished, the building will serve as a clean, modern and exceptionally functional office building for more than 30 individuals. While it won’t be obvious to the naked eye, the building is being constructed from a series of 14 converted shipping containers, all of which are either 48 or 53 feet in length, and have been reclaimed from local shipping yards and put to excellent use by Karoleena’s team of engineers, designers and construction experts. An exciting collaboration between Karoleena and the First Nation people of Alberta, we look forward to updating you with the finished photos of The Equan project in the coming months.
