While we’re proud to have completed construction of our largest home to date, built using traditional on-site methods in the Calgary community of Aspen Estates, the last thing we can call this beauty is ‘conventional.’
Custom built through the collaborative efforts of Karoleena Homes, architect Dustin Couzens of MoDA and Amanda Hamilton Interior Design, this 4,705 sq. ft. home with fully developed basement offers over 6,000 sq. ft. of total living space, backs westward onto a ravine, and when completed in October 2011, became the talk of the neighbourhood and a candidate for an award or two.
The Apsen Project by Karoleena boasts 3 bedrooms and 4 bathrooms on the upper floor, a half-bath on the main, and 2 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms on the lower level. Among its many modern conveniences and stylish features and finishes are NanaWall window and door systems, hydronic heating, natural stone and tile flooring, Miele and Sub-Zero appliances, in-floor garage heating, infinity shower drains, large spanning flat roof sections and extensive natural stone, tile and cedar exterior detailing. In addition, Karoleena’s Aspen home features some truly spectacular outdoor living spaces, ranging from a stunning walk-out basement to Kayu Batu hardwood decking and a cozy built-in outdoor fireplace.
While we won’t likely undertake a site-built construction project like this one again, we can certainly build you the custom home of your dreams using our proven modern prefab process, or, as a prefab/site-built hybrid, within the walls of our state-of-the-art climate-controlled indoor manufacturing facility, opened in August 2011 in S.E. Calgary.
