There are some simple ways to reduce the amount of water you use in your home. Turning the faucet off while brushing your teeth, keeping a container of cold drinking water in the fridge or taking shorter showers are a few small things you can do.
Karoleena understands that our homeowners and communities value water conservation. That’s why we use efficient, low-flow faucets and low-flow, dual flush toilets in our home designs. These standard fixtures help homeowners reduce their consumption by using less water-per-minute while maintaining good water pressure.
Karoleena also uses Bosch combination boilers and recirculation pumps. This compact plumbing design provides a constant supply of hot water as you need it, without having to wait for a hot water tank to deliver the required amount. This is extremely valuable for running baths or showers.
In further efforts to conserve water in our communities, Karoleena has worked with some of our homeowners to build custom rainwater collection systems. In our innovative approach, rainwater is captured and stored in a way that it can be used later for landscape or garden irrigation, decreasing the use of potable water for outdoor activities as a result.
Where our modular solutions are used for larger projects, like hotels, we enlist our landscape designers to identify plants that thrive in various weather conditions. This allows for more native plants on the property that require less human-supplied water through irrigation or additional hand watering.
We know that, when it comes to water, every drop counts. That’s why Karoleena works with our homeowners and communities to build sustainable, water efficient homes.
